Victoria Marie Abadia-Peterson passed with peace and grace at her sister's home on May 16, 2017 with her family at her side.
Vicky was born in Boise, Idaho, February 3, 1941. She attended St. Teresa Academy where she met and maintained many lifelong friends. As a young woman, she moved to Pacifica, California to begin a career as a book keeper, working for Lee Swan Company for 25 years. She met her husband Mel through her friend Pat where they started a great relationship resulting in a happy marriage that lasted over 40 years, until Mel's death in 2015. While she had no children of her own, Mel had three sons that she was a great stepmother to. After retiring, Vicky loved spending time in her garden. She also had a great love of travel, particularly taking cruises all over the world. In addition to her travels, Vicky expressed her creative side through ceramics and special holiday crafts which her family still enjoys today. She will always be remembered as loving, sweet and kindhearted.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Mel, her mother Marie Abadia, brothers Richard, Henry, Albert and Frankie Pagoaga, her niece Jill Pagoaga and nephew Allan Campbell. Survived by sister Margaret Campbell, nieces Heather and Catherine Campbell (Marty), nephews Doug (Robyn) and Hank (Cheryl) Campbell, Rich (Jeanne) Pagoaga Jr., sister-in-law Kay Pagoaga and stepsons Randy (Paula), Russell and Allan Peterson. She also has many grandchildren, great nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at Summers Funeral Home, 1205 W. Bannock St. on Thursday, May 25 at 10am followed by Inurnment at Morris Hill Cemetery. At the close of the service, the family would like to invite you to join them for lunch at Leku Ona, on the Basque Block of 6th and Grove.
The family wishes to thank Harrison's Hope for their wonderful care and support. If you wish, donations may be made in her name to the charity of your choice . Vicky leaves us rich in memories.
