Josephine (Josie) Uriz Biscay, a longtime resident of Madera California, passed away in Clovis on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the age of 93.
Josephine Biscay had been a farmer in Madera for decades and worked for 20 years as a bookkeeper and account manager at Crocker National Bank and Bank of America in Madera, California. She also served for many years as the editor of the Quail newsletter of the Sierra Chapter of the Model A Ford Club, a traveling club in which she and her late husband were extensively involved.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, John Baptiste Biscay, a prominent Madera farmer, who passed away on October 3, 2003 after a sudden illness at the age of 76.
Josephine is survived by her daughter, Jeanette Biscay Mobley, her husband, Gary Mobley, and their daughters, Alison and Erica, of Huntington Beach, California, and by her son, John G. Biscay, and his children, Jaiden and Jaxxon, of Madera, California. She is also survived by her sister, Elisa Fordin, and her husband, Ernie Fordin, of Fresno.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Jay Chapel, 1121 Roberts Ave., Madera, California, followed by a Rosary from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a funeral service immediately thereafter. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
