On Friday November 22nd we lost a great man!
Maurice was born January 11, 1933 in Bakersfield, California to his parents Marie and Gratian Ansolabehere, he was the middle child with older brother George and younger sister Orelie.
In 1958 he married Carol Strawhecker and started their family of five boys, Joe, John, Stephen, Paul and Louis. At the time of his death, he had 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was a veteran of the US Army a Boy Scout leader and a strong believer in the Catholic Church.
Maurice loved spending as much time as he could with his family and loved ones, he was very proud of his Basque heritage and passed that on to all his sons. His favorite hobbies were playing cribbage, dancing, woodworking, and hunting. He was a great storyteller and kept his audience in tears with his wonderful jokes.
Maurice's career was filled with educational jobs, including everything from teacher to dean at multiple higher education institutions.
Dad, you were a beautiful, wonderful, amazing person and we will all miss you greatly.
Love you so much, your sons.
