Mass of Christian Burial for Arnaud James Curutchet, 65-year-old lifetime Buffalo resident who passed away on April 3rd in Rochester, Minnesota after struggling for many years from a medical incident in 2016, will be celebrated Wednesday April 17th at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Buffalo with Father Jim Heiser as celebrant. A vigil service will be held and the Rosary recited on Tuesday at 6:00 at the Harness Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Willow Grove Cemetery with graveside services to follow the Mass. Donations in James’ memory may be made to the Buffalo High School FFA at 29891 Old Highway 87 South in Buffalo, Wyoming. Online condolences may be made at www.harnessfuneralhome.com

Arnaud James Curutchet was born on May 17, 1958, in Sheridan, Wyoming to Arnaud and Alvina Curutchet. He grew up and went to school in Buffalo and graduated from Johnson County High School with the class of 1977. In high school he was a member of FFA and learned to weld. He used that skill to make gates, feeders and branding irons for himself and many family members. He was married in 1988 to Rose Maude and they had one son. They were divorced and James continued to live and ranch in Johnson County until his death.

James liked working with machinery and his nephews have many stories to tell as they helped Uncle James cut and bale hay along the interstate. James was interested in local history and enjoyed showing people the many homestead sites in the area. Most of his life was spent on the ranch with the sheep and his border collie dogs. A passion which he shared with his son was collecting old Jeeps. For several years he helped butcher and cut up meat at Buffalo meat processing during hunting season and later at Big Horn Meat. James was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

He is survived by his son James Michael Curutchet and his significant other Stephanie Idalski; three sisters, Betty Rodriguez and her husband Tony, Kathy Hepp and Alberta Escoz and her husband Jean all of Buffalo.
