Boise, Idaho. The exhibit focuses on the work of Jan Boles, a former photojournalist for the Idaho Free Press, who will be on hand for the opening on Feb. 23.
Boles wrote a feature on the last lambing and shearing operation at the J.D. Aldecoa and Son, Inc. ranch. The feature, called “The Time of the Lambing,” appeared in an April 1976 edition of the Free Press.
Boles has since allowed the Basque Museum to showcase a few of his photographs to better tell the story of the sheepherders and sheepherding industry. The new exhibit will also feature artifacts from the Aldecoa Ranch, including shears, branding irons and more.
