Rosie was born at St. Alphonsus Hospital in 1930 to the proud parents of Pete and Marie Odiaga. During Rosie's early years she was raised at the Archibald Ranch where Pete tended sheep and Marie cooked for a large crew of ranch hands. Marie taught Rosie to cook starting at an early age. In 1938 Rosie moved with her Mom and Dad to an 80-acre ranch that her parents purchased. Rosie helped bring the cows in for milking daily, feed the chickens, and worked in the garden at a young age. She enjoyed those tasks much more than cleaning out the chicken coop!!
She helped Marie cook delicious Basque food and canned jams on their old cast iron white cook stove, the Round Oak, that is still in the family today. Mom was a wonderful cook and she passed on these talents to her children.

Rosie was the ultimate farm girl!! Dressed in her farmerette's, Rosie would drive the draft horses hooked to the hay derrick, helping her Dad stack hay. At the end of each day, she would drive them back to the pasture. It was during this time, a good looking Murgoitio boy, Louie, drove by and spotted Rosie. He cleverly bought some grain from Pete as an excuse to meet Rosie. After a courtship of a few years, Louie and Rosie were married at St. John's Cathedral in November of 1949.

Rosie and Louie made their home on the farm at the original homestead. Rosie worked hard along with Louie in their Grade A dairy operation for over 40 years. She was always supporting him by feeding the calves, doing the book work, and putting a wonderful meal on the table, while she rocked out to Elvis Presley.

Rosie was the epitome of a Mother. She spent her whole life caring for others, unselfishly giving her time and love. We will miss her beautiful smiling face, her constant love and support and her special words of encouragement. She was truly God's gift to us, a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, and a Great Grandmother. We will think of you often Mom and know you will always be our own special angel.

Rosie and Louie were blessed with five children: Louise (Gary), Benita, Carol, Lou P. (Vicki), and Richard (Rose). Being an only child, led her to wanting plenty of children and she was the most wonderful Mom a kid could ever want. Rosie was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, Leisa (Richard), Nicole, Christy, Lukas, Jacob, Mitch, Tyler, Mikaela, Jacquelynn, and Zachary and two great grandchildren, Jackson and Colben and two step grandchildren, Julie (Mario) and Jenelle-they all have very fond memories of her. She also had special friendships with many of her relatives that lived in and around the surrounding areas of the Treasure Valley. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Louie of many years and her parents.

Mom enjoyed travelling with her children and grandchildren to many places throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe. One of her favorites was visiting the Basque Country her parents' homeland.

Rosie was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Community, Euzkaldunak and a local Bunco group.

Memorials may be made to Euzkaldunak, Inc., 601 W. Grove Street, Boise, ID 83702 or St. Mark's Catholic Community, 7960 W. Northview St., Boise, ID 83704. Rosie's family would like to thank the caregivers at Edgewood Spring Creek Manor, All Care Health Solutions and Home Watch Sitters.
