diáspora y cultura vasca
16/09/2017 - Rocklin, CA, EEUU
GB.

El Basque Cultural Center -Gure Euskal Etxea de San Francisco ha publicado esta nota en su Facebook:
Rene Caballero was a beautiful soul, whose love for life will always be remembered by his family and friends. Rene was born on March 20, 1971 in San Francisco, CA to Raymond and Juanita. During his life, he caused a ton of smiles and a few gray hairs. He was a talented drummer, hard worker, a great friend, and boy was he fun!
In December 1999, he married the love of his life, Rose Marie. Their daughter, Amaia, and son, Anthony, were blessed to have a father who would do anything for them. Through his example, they were taught the values of hard work and dedication to family. Together they made beautiful memories, camping, fishing, attending Basque festivals, or just hanging out. He was a thoughtful husband, father, and friend. Rene may have been an only child but will be dearly missed by many brothers and sisters. Those who were lucky enough to call him family or friend will forever cherish their time with him.
Rene battled cancer like a warrior for three years; always putting on a brave face so as to not worry those around him. He fought through and continued to work to the very end. He even found energy to play drums for others and DJ to keep the party going.
On September 16, 2017, heaven gained an angel named Rene. He will be terribly missed and forever in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his father (Raymond), his great uncle (Gus) and great aunt (Juana). He is survived by his wife (Rose Marie), children (Amaia and Anthony), mother (Juanita), cousin (Rosemary and Fred), many cousins, in laws (Martin and Maria Teresa), sister in laws, brother in laws, and nieces and nephews.
The service will be held at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 4450 Granite Drive, Rocklin, Ca 95677. The ceremony at Rene's final resting place will follow at Newcastle Cemetery, 850 Taylor Road, Newcastle, CA. A reception will immediately follow at SS. Peter and Paul Church hall. Since Rene has worked so many years serving the community, a scholarship fund has been created by Rocklin Unified School District. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to contribute, you can do so by going to any SAFE Credit Union location. Contributions must be delivered in person and should be labeled Rene Caballero Scholarship Fund, Acct.#100118115. If you have any questions, please call SAFE at 916-979-7233 and ask for Ashley Ford.
