Pete Argain was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA, the youngest son of Domingo and Manuela Argain.
Pete grew up in a traditional Basque home and learned the value of working hard, helping with the family's sheep ranch with his siblings, Joe, John, Bernard, Salvet and Marion.
He learned the auto parts business with Pioneer Mercantile before he served in the United States Army during World War II.
After the war, he moved to Fresno, CA, where he opened Argain's Auto Supply in 1950, which he ran for 30 years.
He left retirement to build homes in Cambria, CA, and sold real estate in Fresno.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Bradley Gerow; and his second wife, Ruth Shaw Argain. He is survived by two children, Michael, and Denise; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Kyle, Nicole, Michael Gary, Charles, Scott, and Christopher; six great-grandchildren; and special nephew George.
A private family Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Remembrances may be sent to Hinds Hospice at 2490 W Shaw Ave., Ste. 101, Fresno, CA 93711.
