Su hija Carmen, el Centro Vasco de la Columbia Británica y la familia de Pedro Miguel Etchart, recientemente fallecido, el 18 de diciembre de 2016, en Canadá, invitan a las personas del entorno de Pedro Miguel, a sus amigos y a todos quienes le conocieron y apreciaron, a participar en el encuentro y fiesta, cena barbacoa y baile organizados en su memoria.

La cita será el sábado 13 de mayo de 2017, a partir de las 15:30 horas, en la Sala del Sagrado Corazón de la Iglesia Católica de Merrit (Hall of the Sacred Heart, 2302 Jackson, Merrit, British Columbia).

Obituario de Pedro Miguelen publicado en Kamloopsthisweek.com

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pedro Miguel Etchart of Kamloops at the age of 76.

Pedro will be deeply missed by his four children Carmen, Nancy, Lynda and Pedro, their respective partners, three grandchildren James, Spencer and Theo and extended family members. He is predeceased by his parents Pedro Etchart and Francisca Maritorena, brothers Joe (Jose) and Joaquin and second wife Filo Rodriguez.

Pedro was born in Urdax, Navarra in the Basque region of Spain, and immigrated to Canada in 1964. He was proud of his heritage but even more proud to be a Canadian. He settled in Kamloops, BC in 1968, where he worked primarily as a welder, but he also had experience as a blacksmith, plumber, logger, carpenter, mason and mechanic. In the early 1980’s, he started ET Air, a heavy-duty equipment rental and repair shop. He had an amazing can-do attitude, was extremely hardworking and very resourceful; qualities that served him well, in business, for over 30 years. 

Pedro was a social, passionate and private man, who loved to travel, make new friends, and eat and drink well! He was always quick and generous in extending a helping hand and could never resist a good deal. He had a great sense of adventure and was always open to new experiences, like taking a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon, attending ZZ Top and Nazareth concerts, or even flying a glider in Hawaii for his 75th birthday! He lived life by his own rules and, right to the end, admitted having no great regrets in his life. 

He was diagnosed with leukemia in early September and spent his last months fighting like a true warrior, all the while maintaining his sense of hope, humour and feistiness, with a twinkle in his beautiful clear blue eyes. He was greatly loved by many and will never be forgotten. 

May he rest in peace.

A special thank you to Mary-Ann and Frank Etchart, Doug, Al, Frank and Ian for the love and valued friendship they each brought to his life for many decades. The numerous trips made by many great family and friends to the hospital in White Rock, were also a true gift which brought much light, laughter, hope and love during a very difficult time.
