Owen Frost, of Star, Idaho, formally of Meridian, Idaho, passed away on December 1st at his home with his family at his side.
Owen was born on March 31, 1929 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Harry and Emily Frost. The family which included Owen's older brother Francis and younger sister, Shirley, moved to Nampa, Idaho in 1937. In 1948 Owen started working for the Salt Lake Hardware Company in Boise, Idaho.
On July 2, 1950, he married Darlene Miller. He joined the United States Air Force in January 1951 and was called to active duty in April of 1951. Owen and Darlene went on to live in the states of Georgia, Wyoming and last stationed in Victorville, California where their son, Bob, was born in 1952. In October of that year, Owen and Darlene, with their new son in tow, returned to Meridian and started working in 1953 full time for the Air National Guard. In August of 1955, they completed their family when their daughter, Becky, was born.
In 1963 Owen started selling real estate with his father, Harry, at Frost Realty. In 1971 he received his Broker's license and continued in real estate for 20 years. During this time he was involved in the City Planning and Zoning, Meridian Chamber of Commerce and the Optimist Club.
Owen and Darlene especially loved their trips to the Oregon Coast and anywhere there was a casino with a Blackjack table. Their favorite place to go was Jackpot, Nevada. As a couple they also traveled to British Columbia, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, the East Coast to view the fall colors, Phoenix, Reno, New Orleans and the Basque Country in Spain.
Owen is survived by his wife of 67 years, Darlene; son Bob (Crystal) Frost of Mesa, Arizona and daughter Becky (Esteban) Malaxechebarria of Emmett, Idaho. He is also survived by his two precious granddaughters: Micaela Malaxechebarria (Tyler Seehuetter) and Stephanie (Nathan) McLaughlin and his three great-grandchildren: Aidan, Esti and Logan; his sister Shirley of Canada and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dad enjoyed many fishing and camping trips with family and friends and then later with Becky, her husband, Esteban and the two granddaughters. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. Owen was preceded in death, by his parents, Harry and Emily, and brother Francis.
The family wants to thank all of the staff at Heart 'N' Home Hospice in Meridian and Emmett; all the staff at Grace Assisted Living in Boise and Dr. Andrew Chai.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Legacy Church, 1507 N. Meridian Road, Meridian, with the funeral service following at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at the Meridian Cemetery. Remembrances may be left for the family at www.AccentFuneral.com. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.
