Nacida en la localidad bajonavarra de Bidarrai, ha fallecido en San Francisco. GB.

Marie Jeanne (Etcheverry) was born in Bidarray in the Basque Region of France. In 1958 she married Henri Bonson in Lourdes, France and were married for 61 years. Soon after they were married, they moved to San Francisco and raised two sons, Roger and Chris. They also lived in Redwood City and in 2001 moved to Oakdale, California. She loved to travel, going to the fishing cabin and playing cards. She loved telling stories about her childhood and all the fun they had with her brothers and sisters and the rest of the family. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and loved going to the Basque parties & picnics.

She is survived by her two sons, Roger (Monet), Chris (Christine). Three grandsons, Derek, Travis (Aaron), Tyler (Brenna) and two great granddaughters Alexa and Ava and recently a great grandson, Lochlan. Her sister in laws, Odette Etcheverry, Marguerite Etcheverry and Annie Nogues and brother in law Dominique Berhan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in the United States and in France. She was a member of San Francisco Basque Cultural Center, Los Banos Basque Club, Iparreko Ibarra Basque Club and La Ligue Henri IV.

Celebration of life mass will be April 14, 2023 at 10:00 am at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church 1225 Olive Street Oakdale, California. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
