Marie Elu, 94, passed away peacefully surrounded in love by her children. 

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Louis Elu. 

Marie was a loving mother of four children, Felix (deceased) (Bruna), Lucille (Francisco Javier), Luis (Dolores) and David (Danielle); caring grandmother of five grandchildren, Michael, Elisa, Sebastian, Javier (deceased) and Cristina; loving great-grandmother of four; fondly remembered by Eddie and Monica Vasquez and her extended family.

Marie and her husband Louis were the owners of Elu's Basque Restaurant in San Francisco for over 25 years. 

Upon retirement she was able to enjoy traveling to new places and meeting new people as well as spending time with family in Europe. 

Marie was a proud member of the Basque Cultural Center and Union Española, where she enjoyed banquets and cultural events with her many friends. Her greatest pleasure and joy in life was time spent with her family.

Friends may visit Wednesday, January 3, from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. 

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated Thursday, January 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church, 2559 40th Avenue, San Francisco. Burial to follow Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice .
