31/01/2018 - Sonoma, CA, EEUU
(obituario publicado en el Duggan's Mission Chapel)
Marie (Bordachar) Moulia passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on January 31, 2018 at the age of 93.
She was born in Mauléon, France (Basses-Pyrénées) on April 2, 1924 one of five children.
She immigrated to the U.S. in 1954. After settling in San Francisco, Marie met her husband Jean. They were married on October 24, 1959 and made their home in the city. She devoted her life to her children and grandchildren, supporting their endeavors, volunteering at their schools and cheering them on as she watched them grow. After raising their two children, they moved to Sonoma, CA. Once settled in Sonoma, they built their farm as a way of returning to the peaceful rural lifestyle they enjoyed while growing up in France.
She was a loving wife to Jean Moulia, proud Maman to Julie & Joseph (Aline), adoring Mémé to Stephanie (Tom), Christophe, Jessica, Giselle and Eric.
Loving sister of the late Dominique Bordachar of San Francisco, and the late Jacqueline Satragno of France, and her two sisters Mado Oliva, and Georgette (Raymond) Fior of France. She is also survived by sister and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and cousins here and throughout France.
Her happiest times were while surrounded by family and friends, cooking beautiful meals, dancing, playing Belote, gardening, and trying her luck at the casino slots. For those of us privileged enough to be closest to her, she will always be remembered for her strength, generosity and ability to love unconditionally. She will be missed greatly and never forgotten.
Friends and loved ones are invited to attend a viewing at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St. Sonoma, CA 95476 on Wednesday (Feb. 7) from 4pm - 6:30pm with vigil beginning at 5pm. Her funeral mass will be held Thursday (Feb. 8) at St. Francis Solano Church, 469 3rd St W. Sonoma, CA 95476 at 11am. Burial to follow at Mountain Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please plant one in her memory or donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
