Louise Urizar Croy, 91, of Nampa passed away June 3, 2024. She was born in Nampa on May 20, 1933.
While her birth father left her family before she was born, Louisa was always loved by her mother Juana and her two sisters Marie and Frances.
The family moved to Mullan, Idaho when Louise was 5 years old. Her mother worked for silver mining camps. When Louise was 7 her mother married Joe Solo (Solosabal), who became her loving stepfather. The family moved back to Nampa when Louise was in the 7th grade and later she graduated from Nampa High School in 1951.
Louise then worked at the old Albertson's downtown where she served breakfast and coffee back in the 1950's. She next worked at Falk's Idaho Department Store in downtown Boise in 1953. That was the time in her life when she met Harold Croy and they married on Sept. 5,1954, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nampa. Louise also worked at the Falk's ID store in Nampa, the Fancy Pickins Clothing Store, the Merc Dept. Store and the S&H Green Stamp Store all in Nampa.
Louise and Harold raised three children and were members of St. Paul's for over 60 years after they were married. They were also members of the Nampa Elk's Club for over 40 years, where they would get together with Howard and Mary Walling and Dale and Pat Winch.
Over the years, Louise and Harold would also go out of town for mini class reunions to places like the Oregon Coast and the Mt. Rushmore area. Louise was also in a bowling league for nearly 20 years. She was very proud of her Basque heritage as her mother Juana came to the U.S. from Spain in 1919 at the age of 18.
Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Harold in 2018. Also by her parents, and her sisters Marie Wells and Frances Gericke. She is survived by her children, Theresa, Rick and Mark.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at the Nampa Funeral Home Yraguen Chapel. An online guest book and full obituary is available at www.nampafuneralhome.com
