Grace Larena Wilson, 89, of Reno passed away on September 10, 2016.
She was born in Reno, NV on January 26, 1927 to Basque immigrant parents Nicolas and Gabina Saralegui Larena. She graduated from Reno High School.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Candida Larena; and, her husband, James R. Wilson. Grace is survived by three step-daughters, Beverly K Taylor of Reno, NV; Judith I Banta, of Colorado Springs, CO; and Sharon G Barcellos of Fairfax, VA.
As a young adult Grace lived in San Francisco, CA where she worked at the stock exchange and later returned to Reno, NV where she worked for the then Anaconda Copper Company. Grace and her husband lived in Reno, NV, Sydney, Australia, Tucson, AZ and Salt Lake City, Utah.
Grace was extremely proud of her Basque heritage and told wonderful stories of her childhood. She will be remembered for the fun and adventurous person she was and for her kind nature.
Grace is in a better place, a place without pain and struggling. At her request, no funeral services will be scheduled. A private service will be held at a later date.
Cremation is under the direction of O'Brien-Rogers and Crosby Funeral Home, Reno, with private inurnment at Mountain View Cemetery.
