Members of the local Basque community of Concordia - Province of Entre Ríos, Argentina - at the 2010 annual parade of the Festival of the Immigrant. Following the Basque flag, children, youth and older members of the local Basque Center and Basque community reach the place where each community is presented and details about their history and local presence are explained in the best way they can or they know. This year the representative of the Basque community, Daiana Cavalaro Echeveste - in the images in her role as standard bearer - was elected Miss Congeniality of the Feast of the Immigrant.09/02/2010
The group is called 'Amuma Says No' (Amuma, Basque for Grandma). Its members were born in the US, and Boise, Idaho is their home. Jill Aldape (vocalist) and her friends performed a few weeks ago in Washington DC in a performance organized by the Library of Congress, where they presented their Basque music 'Made in USA': Basque music at the Library of Congress.'04/12/2010
Naia Robles, accompanied by her father and two brothers (the four of them formed the quartet Aritzak), sings "I am Argentine." Besides Basque modern and traditional music, the singer from Beskoitze (Lapurdi), for many a musical heiress of her aunt, the legendary Estitxu, enjoys singing Latin American stuff.02/28/2010

Thanks, Julian Abio, for the video.02/01/2010
A touching video with Atahualpa Yupanqui, the big Argentinian singer and poet dedicating this old Basque traditional song to his Basque mother. Born in Argentina from a father of quechua descent and a Basque mother, Atahualpa Yupanqui is one of the big names of the folklore and the people's tradition of the Americas.12/21/2009
Every year the Biotzetik Basque choir of Boise, Idaho, USA performs at a special Christmas concert offering a selection of Basque songs, including Christmas carols. The video belongs to this year's concert, at St. Mary's Church, in Boise, last December 9 as a part of the "Gabon Onak: a Basque Christmas" program. 'Aintza Zeruan' is the Christmas carol. This Tuesday, 15 of December, the trial for the Egunkaria case will begin in Madrid. The case began in February of 2003 when a judge of the Spanish National Court ordered the 'temporary' closure (it remains to this day, nearly seven years after) for the only Basque language daily newspaper, on charges of "collaborating with armed groups", arresting some of its journalists and executives. Two days after, a whole world of people jumped into the street in the city of San Sebastian to protest the closure. The trial of the case begins on Tuesday in Madrid, when even the public prosecutor withdrew the charges in 2006. The process has become an example of the excesses of a kind of war against terrorism, which confuses the defense of Euskera and nationalism with the support and allegiance to ETA.12/07/2009
There is no doubt that Juan Carlos Subijana, a musician from Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the Basque Country, did a good job last summer when he travelled to Poznan, Poland to teach a music course to Polish students. The video shows his students playing 'Euskal Herrian euskaraz', a Basque song that explains how important is the Basque language and to speak it for 'euskaldunak', for the Basques. A Polish version of Euskal Herrian euskaraz.11/22/2009

One year after his death Euskal Etxea renamed its main Conference Hall under the name 'Pello Aramburu'. The new choir of the association, directed by Jose Luis Zamanillo, joined the tributed. The video shows the choir singing Gernikako Arbola at the event.10/29/2009
