It was established in 2013 with the support of the Etxepare Institute and the goal of promoting specialized studies and research on Basque art, specially on Eduardo Chillida. It is located in the History of Art Institute. Besides classes and conferences, it organizes a top-level biannual international symposium on Eduardo Chillida’s work.
