Basque heritage in San Juan Bautista and 'batiburrillo'
Sebastian Sasiain Zubillaga was born in the Basque town of Leintz-Gatzaga in Gipuzkoa. He arrived to San Juan Batista in 1926, being years old, with his wife, Bridget Zubía Erostarbe. The popular voice ascribes to them the invention of the typical local dish known today as 'batiburrillo' (hodgepodge). The mural depicts, him in the center, preparing a 'batiburrillo' (photo EuskalKultura.com)
