Marie-Neige Cilveti arrived in Paris from Navarre as a child, after suffering the war, fleeing the Franco regime, as a refugee. She grew up there always in touch with Basques and the Basque colony in the capital. She and her family helped the Basque Government and she even worked for the Lehendakari Agirre. Grateful for a lifetime service to the Basques and their Government, also to Euskal Etxea, the director for the Basque Community Abroad, Gorka Alvarez Aranburu, gave her an acknowledgment; where, and in the middle of Paris, in front of the historical building of Marceau Street that housed the headquarters of the Basque Government in the capital, which would later be snatched under Franco by the Spanish State, which retains ownership today maintaining there the offices of the Cervantes Institute in Paris. Delegates of Basque communities and euskal etxeak of Japan, Australia and Europe visiting Paris for a meeting congratulated her and broke into applauses. Mila esker, Marie-Neige!
