Carmen de Patagones, Argentina. The first feature-length film by Ivan Preuss is entitled “The Beautiful Fantasy of Final Purpose,” and it was filmed in its entirety in Carmen de Patagones, his hometown. According to reports from production, “inspired by the strong Basque imprint that exists in the region of Viedma and Patagones,” Preuss has included “idiomatic turns and dialogue in Basque, including references to Mari.”
The actress who has lines in Basque, Borja Andia, is a member of the Aberri Etxea Basque Club in Viedma and Patagones, and plays the role of the eccentric grandmother Amanqay.
“The Beautiful Fantasy of Final Purpose,” is now in editing and hopes to debut in mid-2019. See trailer here.
