The Gure Txokoa Basque Club in the Argentine capital of Cordoba will raffle a trip to Euskal Herria and entering is really easy. All you have to do is purchase a ticket at $1,000, even in five payments of $200 and you will be entered. The possibilities of winning are good since only 150 tickets are available for sale. Along with this, the club also let us know that in July they are organizing a talk about San Ignacio and that they will be celebrating both San Ignacio and San Fermin.
Cordoba, Argentina. It's a wonderful opportunity if you life in the area. The Gure Txokoa Basque Club invites members and friends to participate in the raffle for a trip to Euskal Herria, roundtrip Bilbo-Cordoba-Bilbo that is being carried out through ticket sales. The hope is to raise money to cover club expenses, and each ticket is worth $1,000, and can be paid for in installments of $200. The raffle will be drawn from the tickets sold, a maximum of 150, and will take place on September 17th at a lunch at the clubhouse. The winner will be given the option to choose another destination, or take the cash instead.
There will also be a second price, an excellent reproduction of Pablo Picasso’s Guernica, and third, fourth and fifth places will receive their money back. For more information, contact the club via email: centrovascocordoba@gmail.com.
In a conversation with EuskalKultura.com, club president, Alejo Martin, was really happy that they had already sold nearly 100 tickets. “Many friends have purchased them in Cordoba, but also from other Basque clubs all over the country. The money raised will be fundamental to carry out our activities and also to pay for repairs that always have to be done in clubhouses,” Martin explained.
The Gure Txokoa Basque Club is always active, and always gathers a lot of people at each. The next lunch will take place on June 11th with a BBQ. In July, the club will organize a talk about San Ignatius of Loyola and will also celebrate two of the most important dates for Basques, San Fermin and San Ignacio.
In 2017, the club will also continue to offer Basque classes. Thanks to teacher, Maddalen Aristegi, from Oiartzun, classes will take place on Thursdays from 17-:18:30pm (beginners) and 18:30-20:15 (advanced).
