Bilbao, Bizkaia. The Bizkaian dance group AIKO will launch its first Digital Basque Dance Classes in the coming days, knowing well the COVID-19 experience and in this context adapting to the “new normal.” The project is aimed at beginners as well as those who have more experience including dantzaris who would like to perfect, or diversify their repertoire. There will be different sections: Live classes and Material for self-study.
According to AIKO “Live classes are important for us because they become a gathering in some way, at least we can greet and interact through chat…and we try to stay in touch.” Classes will also be recorded so that each one can be reviewed as many times as necessary, then or later on if needed.
The second section for self-study is just that, each person can advance at his/her own pace, step by step, learning and reviewing.
There will also be master classes and monographic courses.
Although AIKO’s normal activity usually takes place in Basque, live classes will be taught in Basque, Spanish and English in hopes or reaching interested individuals in the Basque Country as well as in the Diaspora, in the Americas, Europe, Asia-Australia and the international context as a whole.
More details will be provided in the coming days, although enrollment is already open on their website: Aikoeskola.eus.
