This news is recent and in regards to an app that allows us to send Basque themed emojis.  The app is called Euskalmoji, is free and can be used on both IPhone and Android devices.  The new icons represent various aspects of the Basque culture like sports, food, and festivals, as well as Basque expressions.  Euskalmoji is already available and can be used on all social media. 

Donostia-San Sebastian, Gipuzkoa.  The International Day of Emoticons, or Emojis was recently celebrated and as part of the events, a group of youth in the Basque Country launched their Euskalmoji app that provides users Basque themed emojis.  According to Eitb.eus, the new images can be incorporated into whatever message platform like WhatsApp, and Telegram, as well as social media networks likfe Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram among others.

In this the initial version of the product, there are more than sixty emoticons grouped in six different themes like soccer teams, Basque Country festivals, food, traditional symbols, emotions in both masculine and feminine forms, and typical Basque expressions.

To access the app, all you have to do is go to: http://euskalmoji.eus and you can download from there.  The project, that has filled a void in the world of messaging, is an initiative developed by Roberto Garrido, I this case for iOS, Ivan Pretel for Android, as well as the Tellmewow Agency in Bilbao that specializes in digital marketing and marketing apps.
