Buenos Aires, Argentina. Carlos Gabilondo, director of the Traveling Basque Film-Euskal Zinema Ibiltaria Project that is celebrating its 11th year this year, has announced that he is taking steps to begin the film sessions corresponding to 2021 in mid-March. Due to the pandemic, Gabilondo adapted his program and is carrying out the meetings and sharing space with film lovers through Zoom and other social media. Spanish is their main language.
Adapting out of necessity, and in hopes of extracting something positive from the pandemic, the Basque Film sessions that Carlos Gabilondo prepares from Buenos Aires, and that has offered face to face until last year visiting different places in the Argentine Republic, are now open to virtual participation at both the individual and group level. These also include Basques and clubs in other places and countries.
Carlos Gabilondo has provided this generous service of sharing films, from the beginning, with no cost for the participants and the clubs. He tries to choose significant Basque film titles, or films by Basque directors or participants, which can be viewed online, followed by a discussion about the film, which attempts, when possible, to include guests among which are some of the filmmakers, stars, or film technicians, the majority of which are from the Basque Country.
If you would like to reach out to him to see if this cultural offering might be good for your club, simply contact Carlos Gabilondo on Facebook or via email (jubilondo@gmail.com). He usually responds quickly. Go ahead, check it out!
