Sydney, Australia. Well-known anthropologist and North American basquephile William A. Douglass, founder and first director of the Center for Basque Studies at the University Of Nevada, Reno that was renamed after him in November of 2015, is visiting the Gure Txokoa Basque Club in Sydney this weekend. On Sunday, he will give a talk and present this new book that he previously presented in Bilbao as part of the closing of the 7th World Congress of Basque Collectivities Abroad entitled, Basques in the Antipodes.
After the talk and book presentation there will be a meal where attendees will sing “Zorionak zuri” (Happy Birthday) to Douglass on his upcoming 80th birthday.
