Santiago, Chile. Founded in 2007, and recognized by the Basque Government in 2010, the Basque Community Basque club in Chile has been organizing a Basque cultural week around the feast of San Ignacio, July 31st for years. Due to COVID-19, this year it will be carried out online for a second year in a row. The program will take place on the weekend of July 30-August 1st, with a marked musical tone that can be followed on Facebook and YouTube.
Rosana Arza Pizarro, club president told EuskalKultura.eus that this year the theme will be Basque music and dance. “This will provide a little more hope and encouragement that we will soon get out of this….We are very happy that several choral and dance groups will participate by sending videos,” she said, in an invitation that she has also shared on social media.
