Boise, ID, USA. We don’t think that there are very many places in the Diaspora today that still sing the traditional Santa Ageda verses, a tradition that members of the Basque community try to keep each year in Boise, Idaho. On the one hand are the children from the Ikastola; and on the other are students learning Basque at the Basque Museum that are always joined by more people. Also this year, just weeks before the Coronavirus crisis set in, everyone with staffs in hand, hitting the ground in this annual attempt to wake Mother Earth.
They don’t record a video every year, but they did this year. Here are images taken on the tour of the Basque Block, with stops at the Bar Gernika, at the Bardenay, in front of the Bar Leku Ona and in front of the Basque Center. Our thanks to all who participated, and especially to Todor Azurtza for his organization and coordination.
