Written message from Incoming NABO President Annie Gavica
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Annie Gavica and I am the new NABO President. I am very excited to be in this new role and look forward to being part of the incredible work NABO does across the United States and Canada.
I am a Nevada native, born and raised in a small town, dancing and volunteering in small Basque clubs. In 2003, I moved to Boise to attend Boise State University and join the Basque Community there. I filled various roles in Euskaldunak, Oinkari Basque Dancers and am currently the Executive Director of the Basque Museum & Cultural Center. Much of my time is based on Basque events and programs and so it felt like a perfect fit to jump into the role as NABO President.
Over the upcoming year, I hope to learn more about each NABO club and help the organization grow as it has been for years. I would like to thank Euzkaldunak of Boise for nominating me, and the delegates at the Summer Convention in Buffalo, Wyoming for your confidence and support as I take this new endeavor! Eskerrik asko eta aurrera!
