In order to provide continuity to the work done last year, members of the group, Uzturre Munduan, will return to Argentina from the Basque Country to offer two workshops on September 10 and 11 at the Union Vasca Basque Club in Bahia Blanca; an on September 17-18 at the Laurak Bat Basque Club in Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires, Argentina.   The invitation comes from FEVA and is aimed at dantzaris from all of the Basque clubs in the country.  During the month of September, members of Uzturre Munduan, Ander Herrero from the group Gaztedi in Bilbo, and Garazi Uriarte and Ainhoa Beitia, from Elai Alai in Portugalete will visit the country to offer two dance workshops.

This year, in hopes of facilitating the participation of representatives of various Basque clubs in the region, the workshops will take place at the Union Vasca Basque Club in Bahia Blanca on September 10-11, and at the Laurak Bat Basque Club in Buenos Aires on September 17-18.  Both workshops will follow the same program:

Saturday, 10am: reception for participants and all-day workshop.
Sunday, 10am: continuation of prior day’s activities. 1pm conclusion of the workshop and lunch.

As Uzturre representative Gorka Mostajo Galdurotz told EuskalKultura.com, “this is the first time that we will do a workshop in Bahia Blanca, but we know the people at the club and we have a great relationship with them; we are sure that the dantzaris will enjoy the weekend.  In the case of Laurak Bat, we will repeat last year’s program that was a great experience for all.  In fact we weren’t expecting so many people, and so it completely surpassed our expectations.  The idea is to repeat this experience. ”

“The youth from the Basque Country will also visit the Denak Bat Basque Club in Mar del Plata and for the first time, the Anaitasuna Club in Maipu.  The tour through Argentina will last 20 days,” he continued.  “This year I won’t go, but I will share in the experience of finding a home so far away from home, from here.  Because we have any type of material at our disposal here, music, book or professor.  But from there it takes twice the effort and youth in clubs there show great involvement with the knowledge of the evolution of the culture from here. Witnessing this movement is a great experience for us and we hope that the relationship with the youth in the Diaspora continues,” said the spokesperson for Uzturre Munduan.

Uzturre Munduan emerged in 2015 as part of the Uzturre Project, and hopes to strengthen ties between the youth in the Diaspora and that in the Basque Country, always using Basque culture as a tool in the fabric of these relationships.
