Salto, Uruguay. Comprised of players members of the Saltoko Euskaldunen Taldea Basque Club and the neighborhood club “Treinta y tres,”(33) the team “Baskos 33” began its tour last year in the B Division of the Super Senior League (players over the age of 45). After an “impeccable” showing during the 2019 tournament, the team graduated to Division A in the same league and debuted at the end of August with excellent results.
Currently, besides training to face a new opponent every Sunday, players and Basque club members are also working using “Auzolan” (teamwork) to show off their new soccer field soon. Remember that the Saltoko Euskaldunen Taldea Basque Club has embarked on the construction of its Sports and Social complex that will include a txoko (grill and salon), locker rooms, camping and other sports installations.
The club continues working at the “Bodega Harriague Ground 0 of Tannat” Cultural Space, along with the University of the Basque Country – Uribarri Project/ UDELAR, along with the city government, the Association of Salto Wine Growers, and the “Gernika” Memory Space in which a monument in the shape of a Lauburu using the stone arch technique will soon be erected.
