Donostia-San Sebastián. Urte Berri On, dear reader! Our best wishes to you, especially in the hope that, leaving behind this fatal year 2020, the situation caused by the pandemic will gradually move on a definitive path towards a solution. In this new year, we will try to accompany you on this journey of advancement and normalization, forging community, uniting and fulfilling our objectives of serving as a bridge and a tool to bring us together, which encourages us in our daily work to support our language and culture in Euskal Herria and its Diaspora. This is what precisely what has driven us since we made the jump to the internet 20 years ago.
And it is in this 2021 that this humble project, this small grain of sand, or seed that maybe “doesn’t make a silo, but helps the companion,” celebrates 20 years. We don’t want this milestone to go unnoticed, because 20 years is quite a few, especially on the internet, where millions of projects begin and perish constantly. In our case, in the absence of a great means, we have perhaps been saved by the depth of our commitment and militant work ethic and by that “determination” even “stubbornness,” against what human strength is available. We will have the chance to talk about future throughout the year.
For now, we send our best wishes and gratitude and reaffirm our willingness to accompany you all in this journey, encouraged by so many who share our work in Euskal Herria and the world, commitment and enthusiasm for our language and culture as an open, democratic and inclusive expression. Thank you, reader, Basque or not, but friend and Euskaltzale, for coming along on this journey and shared effort. United and joining forces, supporting each other, we can face whatever we encounter.
Urte Berri On!
