Euskal Telebista (ETB) has launched the “Youtuberrak” contest and has invited anyone interested to participate.  All you have to do is upload your videos in Basque creating a YouTube channel and publish your videos there.  Every month, the best video will be awarded 500 Euros, and at the end of the year the best channel will win a 2,000 Euro prize.  We spoke to ETB and they confirmed that the contest is also open to people in the Diaspora.  It worths a try... Why not? Are!

Donostia-San Sebastian.   ETB invites you to participate in its “Youtuberrak” contest that awards the best videos in Basque uploaded on You Tube.  Anyone can participate by creating a channel on You Tube.  Participants can be in the Basque Country as well as the Diaspora, the only requirement is that the video be in Basque.

The contest will run through December, and will award the following prizes:

• 500 Euros a month for the best video
• 500 Euros for the best video of the year
• 2,000 Euros for the best channel of the year

Every month the public will choose its favorite video by voting on the Gaztea website.  At the end of the year, the public will choose the best video of the year from the monthly winners. But in addition, the jury will also choose the best channel. 

The best channel will be chosen from this criteria:

• Originality
• Interaction with the public
• Diffusion on social networks
• Quality and variety of videos
• Elements that add to the value of the videos: tags, effects, links….

An Iphone 6 will also be raffled, in December, among those who have voted on Gaztea

How to participate

Channels that wish to participate need to send the following information to youtuberrak@eitb.eus:

• Channels URL
• Personal data: name, phone, email
• Description of the channel

Monthly videos should also enroll at this same address.
