Iruña-Pamplona. The “Mugarik Gabeko Txuntxuneroak” group has launched a call to txistularis around the world to join in their new initiative. The idea is to create a participative video, with the traditional “San Sebastian March,” by musicians of all ages and backgrounds. The task is very well scheduled, (see here) the only thing you need is an MP3 player and a txistu in the key of Fa or Fa#, a silbote en sib or si, or an atabal, and a smart phone with a camera for filming. The goal is to create and publish a video together on San Sebastian day, on January 20th.
To unite criteria, “Mugarik Gabeko Txuntxuneroak,” provides guide scores (see here) and guide audios (request acortijy@gmail.com). It also provides technical specifications available for filming. Individual videos should be sent to acortijy@gmail.com or by WhatsApp at +34 640 564504. The deadline for submission is December 31st.
The group “Mugarik Gabeko Txuntxuneroak (Txuntxuneros without Borders) was created in 1994, in Iruña, and currently is comprised of 500 txistularis in the seven Basque territories and a few in the Diaspora. Besides performing at local festivals, inspired by the confinement caused by the pandemic, they began to work on these kinds of collective videos. More information about the group here.
