Rosario, Argentina. This is a product from the Basque-Argentine Factory Patagonia-Astigarraga SAS owned by the Otaño-Goikoetxea familys, one of the main cider families in the Basque Country that manage the Petritegi ciderhouse in Astigarraga. The join initiative of Ainara Otaño (Euskadi) and Xabier Aguirre (Argentina), “Txapela,” is made in the Basque way from apples from the Rio Negro Valley in Patagonia, meaning “it doesn’t contain any added water sugar or gas, so its gasification is natural derived from the fermentation of the apples used in its preparation.
The launch of this new “Sagardoa,” will be on March 27th at the restaurant of the Zazpirak Bat Basque Club in Rosario, managed by chef Itziar Aguirre, Xabier’s sister. The presentation at a Basque festival will be at the 13th Dantzari Gathering in Cañuelas on April 6 and 7.
They have announced in Cañuelas that the cider will be for sale at Saturday night’s dance and it will also be available at Sunday’s lunch, always in its pouring mode.” More information about “Txapela” here.
