More than two hundred people participated in the event that also included a celebration of the end of the year. The program was complete with a concert by three choirs, the tribute of the Basque club to the language of the Basque Country and a dance performance by the club’s youth. The evening continued with dinner and a dance until 3am.
Cañuelas, Argentina. Ahead of the rest of the Basque clubs “so that we could also participate in other club’s events during the month of December,” the Denak Bat in Cañuelas celebrated the International Day of the Basque Language on November 15. The festivities took place at the Basque clubhouse and provided club members and the public report on the “Argentinan Euskaraz” Program that will celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2015 and that challenged teachers in Argentina to maintain and spread the Basque language in this country.
Besides the summary on Basque, Denak Bat also offered guests a concert by three choirs, “Grupo Coral Aires,” directed by Maria Graciela Pereira: “Camerata Exaudi,” directed by Pablo Dzodan; and their own choir. Directed by Maestro Santiago Lopez, the choir members included a selection of songs in Basque in their repertoires.
The dantzaris also participated in the end of year and Euskera Day celebration by performing their best dances. After dinner and without missing a beat, guests joined in the popular dances proposed by the Basque club with lights out being at 3am.
