Two hundred children representing Basque clubs in the Buenos Aires surrounding area in Argentina gathered on Saturday at the Llavallol Colegio Euskal Echea to participate in FEVA’s 2015 Txiki Get-Together. Following the program proposed by FEVA, the children enjoy an entire day of games and activities with Basque colors and rhythms.
Llavallol, Argentina. A large number of Basque clubs participated one more year in FEVA's Txikis Get-Together. Delegations from Arrecifes, Buenos Aires (Laurak Bat and the Euskal Echea School), Cañuelas, Chascomús, La Plata, Lomas de Zamora, Maipú and Pergamino came to the Colegio Euskal Echea in Llavallol where they enjoyed an entire day of fun activities.
The day began with a great breakfast, indispensable when you consider that some groups had to travel several hundred kilometers to attend. Once everyone “recharged their batteries,” each one of the groups moved through a circuit of twelve games: obstacle course, giant wheel, word match, sokatira, frog jump, catch the salmon, Basque puzzles, star, and a relay, find the shoe, basketball and drawing. In addition to the games, the program also included dancing, singing, presenting postcards and kite flying.
The adults worked hard to provide a meal and a snack. They were about one hundred among teachers, chaperones, cooks, parents and companions. Arantxa Anitua, vicepresident of FEVA was also in attendance representing the Basque-Argentinean Basque Federation along with Basque Country Delegate Sara Pagola.
