Today, march 1st at 6pm PST, anyone wishing to send their children to NABO’s 2018 Udaleku is invited to register on the NABO website. Every year, the number of available spots fills in only minutes, and those who are not at the ready, may not have the opportunity to send their children to this year’s camp.
Reno, NV. Some end up canceling, or not being able to attend for one reason or another, and so there is always hope, but the risk of not getting in is always a risk. “Fortunately, in recent years, when the Udaleku start date arrives, we have not had to turn anyone away, but it is a possibility that there is not enough room, as it has happened before,” Valerie Etcharren Arrechea NABO Vice-President told EuskalKultura.com, who along with Kate Camino serves as NABO’s Udaleku co-chair. “We usually try to adjust the numbers between the number of applicants and the number of spots we offer, to average 100 spots, depending on the capability of each club in charge of organizing the camp, which means that today we have to pay extra attention to enrollment.”
Udaleku enrollment is done through the NABO website and anyone wishing to register should be ready at 6pm Pacific Standard Time here and be ready for when the “Udaleku application” is activated. Once activated, simply fill out the intent to apply, making sure to do it completely, and then cross your fingers.
As every year, Udaleku is open to children between the ages of 10-15 who are members of a NABO club.
This year’s camp will take place July 8-20th in Reno, NV hosted by the Zazpiak Bat Basque Club and directed by Kate Camino.
There is also a possibility for older kids to participate as camp aids, see here.
