Paris, France. This weekend Basque film will enjoy a spot in the French capital, as part of the film festival Different! which celebrates its 15 edition this year. It will take place from Friday through June 7 and this weekend is dedicated to film in the Basque Country.
The Basque presence will begin on Saturday with the screening of 80 Egunean directed by Jon Garaño and Jose Mari Goenaga. The film, shot in Basque, tells the love story between two friends who reunite later in life and have to face the vital choice: head or heart. Its director, Jose Mari Goenaga and actress Itziar Aizpuru will be there to present the film and to answer questions from the public. The film’s team is very happy since the film has been distributed and will be shown in France starting on June 13.
On Sunday, it will be the turn of Urte berri on, amona! a black comedy directed by Telmo Esnal. The film will be presented by Portuguese actress Maria de Medeiros and will also be attended by its director and actor Joseba Bengoetxea. The screening will take place at the Noveau Latina room. The Etxepare Basque Institute has collaborated in both events.
