Boise, Idaho, USA. This coming Friday, July 31st, is San Ignazio, and so Sunday’s online mass celebrated by Aita Antton Egiguren from Merced, California, will be dedicated to this festivity (not only celebrated in the Basque Country but also in a large number of Basque clubs around the world, also by the name of San Inazio or Iñaki Deuna), as well as to the cancelled Jaialdi 2020 festivities in Boise, Idaho.
The Basque word Jaialdi means Festival but in Boise, Idaho, Jaialdi means the largest Basque festival celebrated in the United States every five years, and along with practically everything else has been postponed due to COVID-19, to now be held July 27-August 1, 2021. We have no doubt that Aita Antton will sing the traditional San Ignazio March online “Inazio gure patroi handia.”
You can attend mass live next Sunday on Artzai Ona’s Facebook page, beginning at 8:30am PST or 17:30 in Euskal Herria.
Hymns and readings for the mass are available here.
Aita Antton also recites the rosary in Basque and English every day. You can join in on Facebook as well. Here is yesterday’s rosary:
