General Villegas, Argentina. The “Pueblos Auténticos” (Authentic Peoples) Festival is a program of the city’s Secretary of Culture with various cultures organizing events over the weekend. On Sunday, June 30th the event will take place at Cañada Seca with Villegasko Euskaldunak providing typical Basque dishes, Basque dance and traditional costumes.
Among the special activities planned by the club in the coming weeks, on July 7th it will celebrate San Fermin with lunch that will include dancing, bota contest and raffles. The festivities will also include Txapela Cider the new Basque cider made in Argentina that has allowed local residents to recuperate the Basque cider tradition.
In regards to the club other activities the Villegasko Euskaldunak will continue with sign language classes along with Basque dance classes for txikis. They will also continue their monthly dinners. June’s dinner is scheduled for this Saturday, June 15th with a menu that includes pintxos, txorizo in cider and dessert.
