One of the most active groups in the Basque Diaspora in Mexico, originated from the VascosMexico mailing list, has landed on social media with a Facebook page that will surely soon become the meeting point of many internet users interested in the Basque world in this country. Additionally, the group has also updated its website with new contents, design, and as always a large photo gallery. Ongi etorri to this new online face of VascosMexico!
Mexico City, Mexico. They are probably the most active Basque groups in the country. VascosMexico debuted its Facebook page on November 14. Created 11 years ago, the Yahoo Mail list by the same name, quickly had a half a thousand members. They then created a website in 2004, as they continued to collect an extensive photo archive – nearly 20,000 – of activities and festivals held by the Basque community in Mexico, by the Mexico City club as well as other parts of the country.
Jaione Arrieta Galarraga is the founder and main supporter of the group, and after a decade of sharing information and vitalizing it, she has now presented these novelties in hopes of keeping the group alive and further strengthening the Basque community in this part of the world on the internet. Zorte on eta segi horrela!
