On March 20, Palm Sunday, the Gure Txoko Basque club in Valladolid, Spain took an excursion to Aguilar de Campoo, a town in the province of Palencia. The club’s choir had been invited to sing at the local church and so off they went, accompanied by other Basque club members. After mass, the choir gave a recital of traditional Basque songs, with classics like “Aldapeko sagarraren” and Hara non dira.”
Valladolid, Spain. The Gure Txoko Basque club in Valladolid tool a trip on Palm Sunday, March 20. The day began early, at 8am, and made its first stop in Monzon de Campos to have breakfast and fuel themselves for the rest of the day.
The group then traveled to Aguilar de Campoo, where the club choir was invited to sing at Palm Sunday Mass. The group sang during mass and then performed a recital of popular Basque songs including classics like, "Aldapeko sagarraren" and "Hara non dira".
After the concert, the group visited the Mave Monastery, where they had lunch. The menu included croquetas, Iberian ham, vegetables, cod or Iberian pork, and for dessert cake and cheese. After lunch some of the members began playing Mus and it can be said that everyone had a really good time, club sources told EuskalKultura.com.
