Reno, NV, USA. The University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) under the directorship of Dr. Carmelo Urza is a consortium of 33 US universities that has provided quality study abroad programs for over 25 years. Growing out of an original exchange program to Oñati, Gipuzkoa lead by the Basque Studies Program also at the University of Nevada, Reno, USAC currently offers programs in 25 countries at 39 programs sites with a 93% recommendation rate.
Central Office and consortium staff work closely with the on-site Resident Directors and Program Coordinators to ensure that students receive personalized care and attention. With annual enrollment of about 2,500, USAC students represent more than 700 US and foreign universities and 22 countries.
Dina Titus as well as her husband, Tom Wright, has participated in several USAC programs as visiting professors. She has also been a key supporter of the Center for Basque Studies (formerly known as the Basque Studies Program) and USAC in the Nevada Legislature lending invaluable support to both.
