Donostia-San Sebastián. Distance is not excuse. Tomorrow, July 6th at noon San Fermin will begin in the Basque Country, as well as in the Diaspora for Basques and Navarrese who don’t want to be left out of the festivities. In the Diaspora many will tune in on TV or on their computers to participate in real time, in some instances with bulls and all. Besides Iruña-Pamplona other localities like Lesaka and Pasaia will join in the festivities each in their own way.
Without a doubt the reference to Pamplona will prevail, but the ways in which the Saint’s day will be celebrated around the world will be many and varied. Some clubs have organized lunches and dinners, with music and dancing, while others, taking advantage of the summer temperatures, have organized picnics and other outdoor activities. No matter the activity, San Fermin is maintained, even though each city adds its own touch.
The festivities will also reflect the special following of Navarrese centers as cited in previous articles those in Rosario, Buenos Aires, Mendoza and Bolivar, and in particular those dispersed across the Spanish geography.
Here are some more activities in alphabetical order that will take place in the Diaspora.
