Last Saturday, June 20th, the Brussels Basque club celebrated an evening of Basque song at its new clubhouse. The night was very special, from the nerves and excitement of members of the Basque club choir, Txalaparta who performed for an audience for the first time. Along with them, was a choir from Euskal Herria the Ugaoko Sarea Abesbatza.

The Brussels Basque club had a big day last Saturday with the celebration of a concert of Basque polyphonic songs at its new clubhouse, situated on Rue Ferdinand Bernier, 10 (Saint Gilles). There were two choirs at the recital, Ugaoko Sarea Abesbatza with 20 singers from the Basque Country and the Txalaparta choir who debuted a little nervously from the local Basque club.
The recital was a great success and ended with a lot of joy after months of preparation. After the concert there was a pintxo tasting and a drinks, where the audience, club members and choir members had the opportunity to visit and talk about the songs. The menu included humus, guacamole, tapenade, sandwiches, tortilla, quiche, olives, cheese and chorizo.
