Chacabuco, Argentina. The Barnetegi began last weekend in the city of Chacabuco and gathers Basque students and teachers of South America. Since last weekend the sounds of the Tamborrada could be heard, not only in Donostia and Euskal Herria, but also at Basque clubs in Argentina all over the world, while these youth work to deepen their knowledge of the Basque language and advance in their Basque teacher training.
The activity is based at the Guillermo Larregui Basque Club in Chacabuco and is organized with the support of FEVA, the Etxepare Basque Institute and the club itself. In this edition, the goals of the morning and afternoon sessions are preparation for the HABE exams that will take place this year in Argentina.
We would like to offer our support to these students and professors that comprise a fundamental piece of the presence, promotion and transmission of the Basque language in Basque clubs and their surroundings. Biba zuek!
