José C. Paz, Argentina. The Euskal Etxea held its big annual event on June 10th with the celebration of its 22nd birthday. The event began with welcoming their guests and an “Aurresku,” performed by youth from the “Gure Talde Alaia,” dance group. The main dish at lunch was a gigantic paella.
During the day, there were also some novelties. The club youth explained the Gure Esku Dago Initiative the Human Chain event that was to take place in Euskadi on that Sunday to those present. In addition, special guest for the occasions included members of the recreationist Second Regiment of Bizkaia dressed in their traditional costumes who explained how they defended the city of Buenos Aires, along with patriots during the English invasion in 1806.
During lunch, members of the club elected Martin Sanchez as their new mayor for the 2018-2019 term. The afternoon also included entertainment by Daniel Galfredo and his guitarists, and the afternoon concluded with birthday cake, toasts, and awards.
