Salto, Uruguay. The city of Salto, in Uruguay, and the local Basque club as principal promotor, have organized “Harriague Week,” and the “Ardo Festa,” in conjunction of the bicentennial of the birth of Pascual Harriague, founder of the Bodega by the same name and birthplace of the Tannat strain that is the symbol of Uruguay. The festivities will take place April 8-14. The program was presented yesterday at a press conference at the local Cordoba Palace.
The second edition of “Harriague Week,” enjoys the sponsorship of Cenur-Litoral Norte, the University of the Republic of Uruguay, the University of the Basque Country and the city of Salto, among other institutions. The program is as follows:
Monday, April 8
-19hs, Presentation of the Management Commission of the Bodega Harriague
-20hs, Presentation of the commemorative postage stamp, and hanging of the commemorative plaque. Performance by the municipal band. Place: Bodega Harriague.
