Rosario, Argentina. Last weekend at the Plaza Gernika, on the banks of the Parana River, two events took place for the Anniversary of the Bombing of Gernika and for Aberri Eguna – Day of the Basque Homeland, organized by the Rosario Basque club. On Saturday afternoon, representatives of the institution gathered in front of the oak sapling to lay a wreath. Under Basque and Argentinean flags, club president, Javier Oteiza, said a few words in which he referred to the reasons and the consequences of the bombing.

The celebration continued at the clubhouse on Entre Rios Street, where members and friends of the club shared lunch. The menu prepared by the club's women and the welcome by Oteiza were only the beginning of a long afternoon of camaraderie. Music was also a special attraction of the day with singer Joseba Gotzon along with Galician Xoan Curiel sharing their repertoire with those present. The two were in Rosario as part of their Argentinean tour.
