Quilmes, Argentina. “There was a Basque club in our city already in 1901. The latest data regarding club activities, according to records in La Plata date back to 1981. Since then and until the beginning of this century, we don’t know about any activity in the local Basque activity.” “Until a group of friends started talking and meeting during the last few years, with a common goal, to rescue the culture of Euskal Herria, land of our elders,” as explained by Quilmes Basque club to EuskalKultura.com.
“During the last few years we have approached FEVA and other clubs to share, for example, during the Argentinean Basque National Week. We have always been very warmly received and were able to exchange ideas in order to become a center that hosts the locals we can once again share the excitement of having a Basque club.”
